Why?
– Students need bikes and have little income.
– (Hundred of) thousands of bikes are discarded every year – let’s recycle them.
– It’s fun.
How?
Bring your bike and we will take a look at it. We have spare parts, but not all, so we can fix most things, but not all.
I don’t have a bike.
We can possibly give you one. We have some bikes – donated or recovered from recycling areas. If it needs repair (probably), we will help you, but be ready to spend some hours in the workshop fixing it.
I don’t know how to fix bikes.
It’s not hard and we will help you. Start here.
How can I know it’s not stolen?
You would think it’s better to buy one, right? But buying from a private person, is not a guarantee. Even the bike shops are not always secure – recent findings showed that a significant number of second-hand bikes being sold were actually stolen.
We check all bikes that go through the workshop against the police register. That’s also not a guarantee, but it is the best we (and anyone..) can do.
